Basil Pesto with Nutritional Yeast
Pasta with nutritional yeast and basil pesto is a simple yet delicious dish. Our organic nutritional yeast flakes are also a great plant-based source of protein. Nutritional yeast supports the immune system and reduces bodily discomfort.

- 2 cups (40 g) fresh basil
- 3 tbsp roasted pine nuts
- 1 garlic glove
- 3-4 tbsp LOOV Organic Nutritional Yeast
- 0,5 tsp sea salt
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cups (200 g) pasta
1. Boil the pasta.
2. Add basil, nuts, garlic, lemon juice, nutritional yeast, and sea salt to a food processor, and blend/mix on high until loose paste forms.
3. Add olive oil a little at a time and scrape down sides as needed.
4. Then add 1 tbsp water at a time until the desired consistency is reached – a thick but pourable sauce.
5. Taste and adjust flavour as needed, adding more nutritional yeast for cheesy flavour, salt for overall flavour, nuts for nuttiness, or lemon juice.
6. Mix with cooked pasta and enjoy!
